Late November brings me to the end of the faire season and managing to squeeze a visit to the Texas Renaissance Festival. The time of the month brings with it variable climate that was evident that weekend. However the were plenty of people and a number of new or altered things to attract my eye. Here is the first day's outing.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

Turns out the old king ain't dead

He lets in on the evil plans on his way to Florida

Hiding in the unbound forest

We have some pirates

Pretty fierce ones at that

The pirate king foretells of a bear that will aid the princess

Yorick plays into the villain's hands and

gets transmographied into a monkey

"Remember only you can prevent florist friars"

The bear leads her to a sword that will turn its victims into gay llamas

She's got to pull it from a tough old stone

The bear ain't too tough

After tranforming her love into-what the hell is Richard holding?

Anyway, with her love now being something more fabulous

the princess exacts her revenge

And of course an encore
