On the weekend of November 10th I returned to the Texas Renaissance Festival. The immensely huge site has always been diverse and ever evolving, catering to several different tastes. Strictly speaking, TRF has never been known to be a historical faire. Although the bulk of the cast is focused during the reign of Henry Tudor, you can find a wide array of characters from barbarians, fairies, Robin Hood & his merry men and even a Georgian period nobleman. Somehow this collage works for them perhaps partly due to good standards of presentation and also to the enormity of the site. The long duration since my last visit allowed me to gaze at and enjoy the new elements on site. This season's festival was marked by the notable absence of the The Rogues and The Corsairs but perennials like Ded Bob and Throw Up were around along w/ Sound & Fury. There were, however, new acts including the bawdy but elegant sounds of the Naughty Nymphs. There was also a brand new garden along the jousting arena and Sherwood Forest inhabited by the fairy folk. Some of whom were friends of mine.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

The pictures on this page were initially captured at a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Though they are presented by Robyn's Roost at a maximum of 640 x 480, the larger image files can be supplied for prints (does a great job at 8x10 and larger) or other things. For those I have captured a picture of, I'd be happy to supply prints via mail or other exchange for the cost of materials (printed off of an HP-970Cse). This service, of course, is intended to supply a copy of the images to the subject of the picture. Distribution for any other use (in any media format), common sense dictates, will need to be okayed by faire management and/or the subject(s) of the picture.
