Scarborough’s human chessmatch where various town denizens play as pieces of a battle between the King and Queen. Charles Brandon calls out for Henry, Lord Derby calls for Anne. The battles can be to 3 touches or to the blood with proxies called by a player. Again we seem to have a different set of battles for each day. Oddly enough it’s more like a contrafactual sort of combat. Like a step into the Twilight Zone, or Sliding Doors, the scenarios diverge down alternate paths, battles and outcomes.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

You have to admire his belief in ending up triumphant

Another mismatch

Another subbing with proxies

Another use of the old standby

Well it works for him

Sir Osbourne has his hands full

dealing with

this crazy trio

They're not the most in sinc team of warriors

MAGNUS!

Didn't they already fight? I'm getting dizzy

I wonder if Magnus likes having to step in all the time

I heard of being someone's right arm, but this is ridiculous

Looks like he's better off without it
