Ah closing day. It was a total mudbowl affair. And thin splattery mud at that. It did not deter people fom coming out. And I am talking regular patrons not just hard core fans. Even a dirty day like this could not dampen the dignity of the annual honoring of vets on this holiday. Such conditions also lead to 1 of the most memorable chessmatches.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

Under normal circumstance this was an entertaining fight

Today newtonian physics was going to town

I think the little fellow was the only thing keeping him up

Just so you can see the after image

In the midst of a splash zone

At least they weren't holding back

You know for a Royal Guard, he's not exactly a nice guy in this chessmatch

Latimer and Will slip in a new fight

A good knife battle where both men stayed on their feet

Of course it helps when you yield

The field gets slicker as the fights progress

Ole and ta-da

This move was a bit hard to finish

Normally Magnus throws him off the board

But the crowds were screaming "Mud! Mud! Mud!"
