4th weekend of faire was a beautiful overall. Although it started with hailstorms, it ended with the company of good friends. This weekend was my annual coverage of the Scarby Human Chess Match. A vigorous battle with the King, playing the white side, engaging in a game against Charles Brandon who has Anne Boleyn as his Queen.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

Oooooh! I thought royal guards were gentlemen?

But it seems she's no lady

Seems nobody likes Kit

And they're happy to show how they feel about him

Another flag on the field

Well at least he's not dead

Brandon is forced to take Kit's place

and Will proves to be a worthy adversary. He doesn't win though

Two-Hawks is a bit too enthusiastic of a game piece

Black Queen vs White Knight-best out of 5 touches

Anne's a formidable opponent

And combat has put her in a bad mood

Brandon is skilled enough to make it 2 to 2

But the Queen is triumphant

In the name of St Michael and St George, she knights him-Loser!

We still need to decide a victor

And poor Kit is chosen the King's champion

Poor guy. It's really amazing then...

that he wins
