4th weekend of faire was a beautiful overall. Although it started with hailstorms, it ended with the company of good friends. This weekend was my annual coverage of the Scarby Human Chess Match. A vigorous battle with the King, playing the white side, engaging in a game against Charles Brandon who has Anne Boleyn as his Queen.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

Smythe and Magnus are anxious to get started

As are several others

Capt McClean and Sir Adrian got at it

They certainly aren't timid

Especially with those arms

A little intervention from his own side

And someone else takes credit

Magnus next goes after Adrian

A decisive win

that he revels in

Good English over here, bad English over THERE

Sir Robert battling for the white side

She's an enchanting adversary

He'd agree

Except for how things ended up

Paddy Walsh is out for blood
