Memorial Day weekend was a rollercoaster ride of weather and events. Sadly the traditional joust tournament was cancelled since the usual number of entrants were not available this year. The weather was erractic. Saturday was warm and over 90% humidity. Saturday night unleashed severe and I mean severe thunderstorms leaving the grounds mushy, but cool and comfortable. Monday was still mild but rained intermittedly throughout the day. There were still plenty to see and do since the weekend brought an enormous number of visitors. Besides the usual out of town playtrons there were guest cast from both Kansas City and Minnesota festivals. Supposedly over 80 of them arrived. That's a serious load of street performers. From Minnesota also came a very cool madrigal trio.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

Leopold, Gaylord & Fraydrick: Fops from the shire of Canterberry. Somewhere is a major lace shortage

Some piratical types from there as well

This Bilge Pump finds them very tasty

Master Bartholomew and his manservant Baldrick

Singing with Queen Anne's Lace is Balthazar. Also from Canterberry I believe

Shakespeare's Love Child, a beautiful blend of the Bard's words and their music

Baroness Elura, their soprano diva

Lovely Lady Constance, alto

Bartholomew is a bass. I heard a number of women around me swooning when he sang

Performing a song about an encounter between a widow & the Devil. You can tell it gets heated

A rather memorable sing-a-long piece

Lady Margaret Poole and Lady Jane Neville dancing to their closing number

From the east coast, Bevin O'Kenny, Andre Bourgeois and Lord & Lady Foxchase

Working on a new piece. Sadly the storms washed it away and he had to start over

She's working on a multi-headed dragon

Jim & Sharon bravely breaking in their new garb during the Saturday humidity
