Romance weekend at Scarby was quite the dichotomy. Saturday was very warm and very muggy. Sunday however was almost ideal. Isn't it amazing how, when the temperature drops 10 degrees and humidity by
half, the enthusiasm just perks up? Got some shots of chessmatch which has returned to more basic format. No attachment to any story arc and a good mix of nice fight choreography and entertaining humor.
Another thing that pleased me were some patrons that looked just "right". What I mean is that at any decent faire you'll find nice outfits, but it's hard to see someone dressed in something that is ideal in design and ideally suited to them. And those garb can be either clean and simple or complex and upscale.
It's just too bad I didn't get a chance to photgraph them all.
The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby
