One of the interesting events at the Southern faire is their daily battle pageant. A spectacular battle between English soldiers and their allies versus hardy group of Irish fighters. At stake is a question of honor and who owns the field. Apparently, 1 of the English was allegedly shot by an Irishman. Well you can imagine the state of mind both sides are in with that scenario.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

Both sides go at it with full force

More than the field is at stake

The formidable english commander

Even with dwindling numbers both sides keep fighting

And there are no small number of losses

for either side

Those farmers refuse to give in though

A small break

Instead they resort to champion vs champion

The English have a mighty hero

Though those upstarts provide a good challenge

It's not quite good enough

The situation gets ugly and desperate

You'd would have been amazed at the fight she was in

Oh and those Irish upstarts took the field
