Pirates In Paradise 2001 |

12-15-01 Here's my photo essay for the final major event I attended in the year 2001. The festival was better than the prior year. Again there were numerous parties and events and great entertainment. I got reacquainted with people I hadn't seen in quite a while and I made many new friends. All this within a 4 x 2 mile tropical and colorful paradise which never dropped below 70 degrees and never got above 80. On a more somber note, this past year has been a hard one for our community (not to mention our nation). There has been notable losses and tragedies and near tragedies. I don't need to go into details of the events of the last several months, but there has been a definite toll this season. I have to admit being able to come to such a serene place helped me to contemplate on all this and put things a little into perspective. Anything that gets you one step closer to closure is always a good thing and something we all need. To those who have also been feeling these past hardships may you be acquiring that peace of mind as swiftly as possible. Anon and good days, |
