For 10 days after Thanksgiving Key West host a beautiful and fun filled event celebrating the age of piracy. In this colorful and serene place I have indulged in lectures, parties, plays, sea voyages and wonderful piratical entertainment of the first order. They included author Dr. David Cordingly, artist Don Maitz, the thrills of the West Coast Mutineers and the incredible music of the Pyrates Royale and of course the Corsairs. It was all 1 big bundle of endless fun, play and tropical (dare I say it) paradise

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

They are followed by the Pyrates Royale of Maryland. 1 of the best acts around.

Peg and Kat on bodhrans

The 2 groups come join in singing "The Mingalay Boat Song"

Later we all went over to the pub Finnegan's Wake for the Guiness Toast

Capt Moone, Jenkins & Peregrine performing the lead on Finnegan's Wake

Later the guys perform "Irish Rover"

This image speaks for itself

Another colorful Key West site

Some the guys wanted coconut milk that morning

Saturday the Pyrates Royale performing at the Republic of Conch bar & restaurant

Capt Moone gets all emotional

So does Drake

The Corsairs singing in front of Turtle Kraals

The Harlot Charity lounging at one of the encampments

Also at Turtle Kraals were the jazzy piratical stylings of The Crimson Pirates of New York

They're also a combat troup but this weekend they're just singing

The pictures on this page were initially captured at a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Though they are presented by Robyn's Roost at a maximum of 640 x 480, the larger image files can be supplied for prints (does a great job at 8x10 and larger) or other things. For those I have captured a picture of, I'd be happy to supply prints via mail or other exchange for the cost of materials (printed off of an HP-970Cse). This service, of course, is intended to supply a copy of the images to the subject of the picture. Distribution for any other use (in any media format), common sense dictates, will need to be okayed by faire management and/or the subject(s) of the picture.
