For 10 days after Thanksgiving Key West host a beautiful and fun filled event celebrating the age of piracy. In this colorful and serene place I have indulged in lectures, parties, plays, sea voyages and wonderful piratical entertainment of the first order. They included author Dr. David Cordingly, artist Don Maitz, the thrills of the West Coast Mutineers and the incredible music of the Pyrates Royale and of course the Corsairs. It was all 1 big bundle of endless fun, play and tropical (dare I say it) paradise

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

The Corsairs at the San Carlos hawking for that night's performance of "Matt Lowe" and "Miss Ruby"

"Matt Lowe" was a monologue about the life of a sailor who was a contemporary of the pirate Jack Rackham

"Miss Ruby" concerned the life of a young lady at the turn of the 20th century and the loss of her fiancee on the Maine

Sunday morning at the Holiday Inn The West Coast Mutineers mingle around the pool area

The Corsairs are also there to entertain

A representative from the Captain Morgan company is also there

He is giving away free souvenir items

He also was giving away free samples of Captain Morgan's rum punch that was very tasty

At 1 of the weekly "Tea Dances" at the Atlantic Shores Hotel a pirate theme is used in conjunction with the festival

The pictures on this page were initially captured at a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Though they are presented by Robyn's Roost at a maximum of 640 x 480, the larger image files can be supplied for prints (does a great job at 8x10 and larger) or other things. For those I have captured a picture of, I'd be happy to supply prints via mail or other exchange for the cost of materials (printed off of an HP-970Cse). This service, of course, is intended to supply a copy of the images to the subject of the picture. Distribution for any other use (in any media format), common sense dictates, will need to be okayed by faire management and/or the subject(s) of the picture.
