Blarney Brothers Homecoming: by Frank Hui

On April 1st, the Blarney Brothers drove back into Dallas from their Midwest tour for a homecoming gig at the Emerald Mist Pub. We devoted fans decided to surprise them by making it an actual homecoming/prom dance. I was there to officially take photos. Hey what's the prom w/out the photographer? Many of us got all dressed up. We decorated the place in Celtic colors. And some of the women made very special 'mum corsages for the band members. Many of us got gifts for the guys. I got Mike Price a very special item. It was a rocking evening as the band joyfully recounted what a success the tour was and they especially liked the playtrons for coming out to see them. They played 3 incredible sets. There was much drinking, dancing and special appearances by guest artists. Not the least was drummer Matt Williams' elder daughter, Amanda. A lovely girl barely in her teens with an unbelievable voice that has been greatly nurtured. She could easily been the next LeAnn Rhimes in a few years. The guys played most of the fan favorites and closed the evening w/ a very un-Celtic type song they use to do quite often-a smoking version of Southern Cross.
