One of Austin's traditional events is Halloween on 6th Street downtown. This is a big gathering where by 6 PM, the city needs to block off well over 1 square mile of downtown to accomodate the countless thousands of
folks who want to show off or watch people parading about in costumes. By 10 PM the streets and bars are packed with hearty partiers on the lookout for all the outfits. You get the usual mix of uniforms, nutty gags suits, women in sexy (fill in the blank) costumes.
Not a bad way to kill a few hours. Traffic is murder of course.
The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby
