I ventured on a Saturday afternoon to a young local Anime convention. The event was small but at a nicely laid out hotel venue. For a small event they had a variety of panels, a decent number of vendors, activities and some great spots to create photo-ops.
The best part were the patrons. Though primarily a young crowd, a surprising percentage made the effort to dress up and get into the spirit of the con. The quality level varied but it was terrific to see so many folks
wanting to express their love of their genre. There were even some who gravitated away from anime.
