Friday was the first full official day. Definitely more people than last year which is not surprising. The weather was better with a heatwave having broken. People did not waste time apearing in a wide variety of costumes. and they started lining up to meet many of the guests at the Walk of Fame. The big event for me this day was the evening costume contest. Unlike the more theatrical Masquerade, it was a contest solely based on the construction and quality of the outfit. My roommate Rick, pal Dave and I entered wearing a unique idea constructed by Rick.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

No surprise he won

He did have a tough time moving though

This was different but effective

Inspired by Labyrinth

A pretty nice recreation

We have a Star Wars rep

The audience was crazy about him too

Etrigan the Demon

His outfit appealed to my inner comic book geek. His lady friend came as Zatanna

This one exemplifies the diversity of contestants

All systems go

An imperious White Witch

She sewed the lattice on the fabric herself

An Elisabethian court dress

Notice the beading-all hand sewn

A Jack Skeleton puppet
