Just northwest of Dallas was the area's first annual Blackbeard Pirate Festival. It was hosted within the confines of the Las Colinas Equine Center. The whole area was sheltered, so the festival was immune to the thunderstorms that periodly struck that weekend. The event proceeds went to charity and had on the bill a respectable number and quality of acts all fitting the piratical and exotic atmosphere of the event. While not a huge event, there were 3 performance venues within a smartly laidout site. Limited advertising was probably the only serious drawback to the festival and hopefully next year that will be rectified.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby
