So here it is, the trip Andrea and I took to New Orleans. We left Monday morning, August 7th and planned to be back before the Bristol faire opened the next Sunday. Currently, it's Friday, August 11th and we're on our way back. It's 5:00pm and we're still in Mississippi. Methinks we'll be awfully tired if we do make it to faire tomorrow. Anyhow, I could write lots of stuff about our adventure to the Big Easy. I'll attempt to do some of that throughout the image gallery. However, we also took quite a bit of video footage and that may be a better way to tell our tale. For now, here are the images and such!

Here are our first glimpses of New Orleans. Coming in we took the 24 mile causeway that goes over Lake Pontchartrain. We pulled in, checked into our room at the Super 8 motel on Chef Menteur Avenue, and took a cab down to the French Quarter. By this time Andrea was famished. We quickly paced through Jackson Square and walked to Bourbon Street. I can't even tell you the name of the restaurant because we just picked one and grabbed some vittles.

The below images begin our day on Wednesday. One of the things we most wanted to do in New Orleans was take a tour of one of the cities of the dead, otherwise known as a New Orleans's Graveyard. We took a cemetery/voodoo tour with Melissa (third image from the left below) and 9 other people through St. Louis Cemetary #1, the infamous site of where Marie Levauex, Voodoo Queen, is buried. The tour also included a brief respite in the French Quarter courtyard/temple of a voodoo spiritualist. Her name escapes me at the moment and we we're requested not to take any pictures, so...
