On the weekend of September 23rd Liz the Ren Faire Junkie and I attended the Ohio faire for their pirate weekend w/guest artists the Corsairs (go figure). We stayed at the Cedar Hill Bed & Breakfast less than 10 minutes from site.
It's a warm and hospitable place that I strongly recommend using. Ohio was humid, muggy, rainy and muddy. Hmmm, sounds like a lot of faires I've been to lately. The faire is relatively young (its 11th season) but has a fairly
good size site. It is divided into 3 sections with each part connected by bridges with the joust arena centrally located. Ohio has a respectable mix of entertainment and shops with some interesting bits of flavor that made it an enjoyable experience. As seen below, this weekend can be summed up in three words: Pirates, Parrots and Rain.
The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby
