Again I was able to return to the Maryland Festival in Crownsville for their Pirate Weekend. However this trip was in the aftermath of the evil Hurricane Isabel. Fortunately the damge was not too bad the weather eventually became nice with only Saturday's attendance being affected. In spite of the weather, the festival still put on a good show with its wide variety of acts and performers. I got to experience some new acts like Swami Yomahmi and revisit ones I missed last season including Shakespeare's Skum. I still somehow ended up with a crowded agenda but I made sure to make room for all my favorite piratical acts. After all what would have been the point of coming.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

The announcement of the betrothal of Pierce Templeton to the mayor's ward Emiline much to the dismay of Deputy Philip Worthington

The mayor agreed to it to deal with the many debts he's amassed with the peoples

And those folks are quite the angry mob, backed up by the pirates who have arrived for their reunion

The King greeting young patrons

1 of the Handsomes doing what he does best

A little applied spit and polish

Some nobles playing with bubbles

A different approach to making them

The Queen posing w/this pretty babe

These gents garbed for the occasion

I think it's at the Wood Butchery that has this beautiful rocking horse

This snake is also nearby

The Purple Unicorn has some colorful clothes for sale

I saw some very sharp and elegant leatherwear here at Potomac Leather

Of course I must take in a show with the Pyrates Royale
