My mother and I attended the Faire the weekend of Halloween 99 - because I was in a wedding there! Woohoo! Once again - singing. We enjoyed ourselves quite at lot at the faire once we were informed that it is now a Fantasy faire- and not Renniassance. We were driving ourselves mad wondering how Robin Hood could be the law man when Henry the VIII was reigning!!! ACK! You'll see by the pictures- Henry and Queen Catherine went about the faire completely unescorted... She was rather loud and forward and quite fun. The king was quiet and oversaw only the joust. Which I must say - was very good. They had more of the competition games - not just fighting each other. But obstacle courses...etc. Another picture is of Me and my Mother. If you recognize my mothers dress - you are right in guessing that Lady Elinor Fettiplace allowed my mother to borrow her dress. Thank you again Lady Elinor!!! (Lynn) And the final picture - the bride and groom and minister. Lord and Lady Jason Grey! If you're ever in Atlanta around Halloween - be sure to drop by the faire. Just remember - it is historically inaccurate. But if you don't care about the history- you'll have fun... you'll love the scenery... and be sure to find Mother Nature hanging out at the Tea Garden... she'll have a nice chat with you. Oh - and don't miss speaking with Will Scarlet - one of Robin Hoods men...he's a blast. Wear something Red and he'll adorn you with compliments and attention! Be well friends.
