Excalibur Fantasy Faireis a nice diversion before the bigger Texas events. Celebrating its 5th season, the faire is still mainly on tent show located on the Rocky Ranch 40 miles east of Austin, Texas. It was a sporadically wet day but not a bad one. The show has promise and does a respectable job of presenting the people of the Arthurian legends. There were reasonable number of vendors and a decent mix of acts. Sadly there was no afternoon joust owing to a short but potent downpour during that timeframe.

I thought her mask was stunning	A nice variation on the faery theme	The Bedlam Bards who are long standing performers at this faire	Some of the court watch these archers display their skill
Singer and flutemaker, Scott Bozwell	The site has many trees in and around the site	This was a very engaging children's act. Here they re-enact the life of Arthur	Later kids line up to do battle with the dragon
They're trying to cut down the beast and release its "innards"	Passed by the Fair-E-Flowers booth and saw these ladies coversing.	It was raining hard but they were provided w/ shelter by the shop	During that same shower some of Birds of a Feather tried to perform under wraps
The rain did eventually let up for them	I thought this catapult game looked pretty neat. The target was set like 25 ft away.	This young "soothsayer" gives Arthur some disarming predictions	My friend the Shantyman performing a moving piece by Tom Lewis. It started raining again so he stashed away his guitar.
The faire also had a bellydance troupe, Hands of Fatima	The act included a rather skilled male dancer	Some of the knights doing a little impromptu entertainment for the people	Magician Jack Scratch
