The Colorado Festival is a very enjoyable faire with a good mix of crafters and entertainers, albeit the cast was smaller than I expected. There are enough unique aspects to the place to give it it's own individual personality. I kept pretty busy with my camera. First and foremost are the surrounding mountains that create a breathtaking backdrop for the faire. Incidentally the site is a respectable sized one and reasonably laid out in spite of the mountain terrain it is built on. There are a wide variety of crafters including such major vendors as Fellowship Foundry, Dragons Wings, Ruth Thompson and Noblisse Oblige whose owner, Leslie Harris, my friends and I had the pleasure of meeting. There were also some tents and booths that surprised me a little including the Adopt-a-Greyhound center. There seemed to be a higher number of bawdier acts or at least bawdy humor than I've seen at the majority of faires such as Ded Bob, the Naughty Nymphs and Puke & Snot (the oldest ren act on the circuit I believe). One performer, Dextre Tripp had a show that really went off with a bang and was a nice change of pace from the typical balancing/acrobatic act. The faire has it's share of theme weekends with this one emphasizing music with guest musical acts including a highland dance school, a pipe band and a fiddler's contest.

The previous description and all these wonderful images are brought to you by Frank Hui. Because of his devotion, I have nothing to add. --Robyn Sotherby

The pictures on this page were initially captured at a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Though they are presented by Robyn's Roost at a maximum of 640 x 480, the larger image files can be supplied for prints (does a great job at 8x10 and larger) or other things. For those I have captured a picture of, I'd be happy to supply prints via mail or other exchange for the cost of materials (printed off of an HP-970Cse). This service, of course, is intended to supply a copy of the images to the subject of the picture. Distribution for any other use (in any media format), common sense dictates, will need to be okayed by faire management and/or the subject(s) of the picture.
