The images on these pages were taken over the seventh weekend of Bristol Renaissance Faire (Aug 7 & 8, 1999). These two "action" pages are of the skit that happens at 4:30 at the Chesire Chase Action Stage. In the scenario, William Shakespeare aides Captain Nicholas Cutter in writing a love letter to his lady friend. Unfortunately for Cutter, the letter falls into the hands of Sir Edward Cooke who mistakes it as an attempt on Queen Elizabeth's life. Meanwhile, Sir Edmund Tillney is preparing for Her Majesty's wedding to either of two suitors. Sir Robert Dudley attempts to gain Queen Elizabeth's heart out of love, while Don Gomez offers power, property, and prestige with a union to King Phillip of Spain. It's a great story with a good plot line and strong characterization. The below images don't do justice to the sequence, you must see the entirity yourself!

The letter must now be read

Aphrodite doesn't take kindly to WS's muse

But, inspiration must reign

Finally it is read

The letter...

...is moving

Too moving

Caught by the Earl of Leicester

Suitor to the Queen

Another ruckus

With fists,

head bashing,

swords,

dodging,

and the Queen

restoring order.
