Now, I know that I always say that faire weekends are beautiful weekends despite rain, heat, crabbiness, whatever; but, this past weekend really was gorgeous. The temperature was right, and, although it poured at opening and closing, I don't think I've experienced such wonderful weather at Bristol for a couple of years. Frank tells me that next weekend is supposed to be just as ideal. Unfortunately, due to some family obligations, my new bride and I were unable to make it until later in the afternoon on both days. So, I missed the new scenario sequence -- Dean tells me I'll have a chance to see it again. Hah! Of course I will. Probably again and again and again. I did catch a glimpse of Robin Hood and Friar Tuck. If I were a lass, I'd spend the next 800 words describing the dashing Robin Hood. Oh well, we're going to have to wait 'till next week for images of him. However, I did capture some images of the final joust at Bristol. I don't believe I've ever taken pictures of that before. I've also got some silly shots in here. When I think back to the first couple of years I've been doing this, I sorely miss those images. I hope you can put up with them -- 'cuz dangnabit -- I wanna have some fun this year.

Pretty horsey

Smack and crash

"I lost my pointy thing!"

"Tag, you're it"

"Don't wanta play, huh!?"

"Alright, let's do some alphabet defense on you"

I've fallen... and you try getting up wearing all this armor

A look of desperate battle, or a groovy new dance

Oof

"Rump over teakettle"***

Final showdown
***That's a quote from a book I just finished reading called Charisma by Steven Barnes. Also in the book is a mention of "something called a Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Northern California. Granted, that's the only mention. It's a thriller about some experimental educational procedure with at-risk kids. Not too bad of a book, if you can get past the first hundred pages or so."
