10-24-02         Massive update in progress! Dean Calin of the Bristol Discussion Page asked me if I could archive the rehearsal images from this season on the Roost. 'Of course,' says I. 'Great,' says he. Then a couple of months go by. 'Uh, where are they,' says he. 'Er,' says I. They're here now.         As I continue to look at what else I have to update from the last couple of weeks of Bristol, I'm disappointed to discover that I lost some images during a computer crash. Those images were from the eighth weekend when Frank and I had one of our rare opportunities to throw back a drink together. Alas! Digital data sucked into the technological vaccuum. Thankfully, he was here and has a record of those weekends.         At least I've got the duck launch from the last weekend... those are posted over yonder.         Oh and there's also a link to the winners of the final costume contest of the 2002 season. ![]()         And the last update for this season is a sound clip of Sir Edward Coke and Jack Bottoms doing a little sing-song. Right click the below link and choose "save as...".         cokeandbottoms.wav 1 minute 2 seconds (250kb). 08-23-02         Okay I finished loading the rest of the shots I took and I hope you enjoy. This was a particularly special time for me since my friends the Corsairs had their first gig at this fair. For years I felt this area would be very receptive to their kind of entertainment hence the continual promoting online. I'm happy to be proven right. Having them perform here amongst many Bristol friends was a great way to celebrate the weekend prior to my birthday. I just regret in all the hubbub of their arrival plus some other tasks related to faire, I didn't get to do and see everything I wanted to do that weekend. The ironic part is I still blew more film than I had intended. Ciao and enjoy Franco 08-22-02         Hey a new update by Frank for weekends 7 and 8. The first 3 pages are up. The story arc pages will be up later. The 2 weekends were great and very pleasant. For some reason God has deemed for the last few years that every time I visit Bristol, the temperature drops to something nice. I don't know why, but I appreciate the gift. 08-05-02         Two new pages from week 6 have been added. 07-28-02         This was hump week. Like last week, the forecast for Sunday is pretty icky, so I've only got one page of images from Saturday. They're posted... enjoy. And, please, please if you know of a person/event that needs to be memorialized, let me know. 07-21-02         Two pages of images from Saturday of the fourth weekend have been added. Thinking about the heat, I've also done some research for the temperatures of the past few years. Check out the results if you're interested in just how hot it's been. 07-15-02         There are two pages of updates for the third weekend. I know it's not a lot, but it's what caught my attention this past weekend. 07-07-02         Sorry folks, I wasn't able to make it this weekend... I seem to have caught a wee touch of the plague. Yech! However, just to prove that this season won't be like last season here at the Roost, I have added some images... from last year, but there are six pages of images that never quite got posted. I thought this might be a good time to do that...         I've also posted some other goodies because I feel so guilty and am hoping you'll enjoy the effort... at least if you have a broadband connection... I've got some video I've collected over the past couple of years, as well as some of Frank's, so I'm working on digitizing some of it. You will need Apple's Quicktime player to view these, also right-click and save the file to disk, I'm not sure if it will open from its current location. If anyone has any suggestions on how to compress it further, please contact me (these will take awhile to download): A three minute video of the mid-day parade (2000) -- 22MB (ouch!) franktreeflip.mov: A one minute video of the street fight between Jack Bottoms and Oswald Jaggers where Oswald does a flip off of a tree (2001 by Frank) -- 4.6MB 07-03-02         One of the pictures on Page 5 of the first week's gallery of images has a changed caption. Thanks to numerous individuals, that image accurately reflects the solemn march given in honor of the passing of Ray Benzel this past year.         Also, the past years' galleries should be accessible once again. 07-01-02         1:29 pm Had to run out and replace a piece of fried hardware. And, now, all the images I have of opening weekend are posted. Enjoy         8:58 am I've got a bunch more pages coming, but for all you early birds out there... here's the first two. Also, after speaking with a few people this weekend that have enjoyed printing out the images posted here, here's a reminder that if you send me an e-mail, I'd be happy to send out the full-quality, high resolution images for personal use. As always, thank you for your kindness... your appreciation keeps me motivated :) Oh, and one last thing for now: Please forgive the broken links to the previous years' galleries. Those have to be reuploaded.         Anon and good days,         Robyn Sotherby |
