Let the reveleries begin! Call out the military, hang the banners, let loose those trumpet fanfares, tap the kegs! It's here. Bristol 2000, the 13th Annual Festival in Kenosha, WI has begun with nearly great weather, many of people, and another extraordinary cast. What can be said for an opening day? As the performers felt the power of the audience and the audience milled about checkin' out their favorite places as well as searching for what's new, I was as much caught up in the magic as anyone else. Last year, a common statement was, "It was bloody hot!" If you can believe it, Saturday began as an ideal day. Unfortunately, as I sat watching the 3:00 daily costume contest, rain drops started falling. It did not stop... as a matter of fact, it began pouring. The 4:30 Action set needed to make some adjustments to account for the wet stage. That day ended up simply wet. Sunday's heat, however, dried everything off very well and the crowds were huge. Given that, it looks like it will be another great season!
